2011 has come to an end and what do we do on the last day of the year?
We celebrate in style, with a lot of bling and elegance.

Recently I attended the Swarovski Elements fashion show in the Armani ballroom in the Burj Khalifa and I thought the looks that hit that runway are the perfect inspiration for a New Years Eve party outfit. The 'Sense of Two' show featured 11 different Middle Eastern designers who went all out. Each designer created two avant garde looks that stunned the crowd.

Last month my friend Shaikha, who is an amazing photographer and abaya designer, invited me to Ras al Khaimah. Ras al Khaimah is one of the 7 Emirates of the UAE and only a 1 and a half hour drive from Dubai. Thanks to the map she made for me I didn't get lost. We spend our afternoon at the Banyan Tree which is one of the nicest resorts I have ever seen.

A bloggers day out with Maison Sez.
Maison Sez is a boutique in Abu Dhabi that stocks some of the best fashion brands out there such as Vivienne Westwood, Rebecca Taylor, Zuhair Murad, Nicole Miller etc.
The day was filled with glamour, being picked up by a limo in Dubai taking us to the boutique in Abu Dhabi, having lunch in the garden of the villa where the boutique is located and after that a treasure hunt through Maison Sez. Oh and the best part; we got to keep the piece of clothing from the treasure hunt! My treasure? An ivory Guishem dress.

Yves Saint Laurent's international makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds came to Bloomingdale's Dubai to show us how to get the perfect smokey eyes. Of course no one will be able to recreate what he did on stage, but still it was amazing to see him work his magic.
Do you like the smokey eyes look?

After meeting Lloyd Simmonds I got my makeup make over. You might have noticed, I never wear eye shadow so this is definitey something different for me. I chose green and black for my eyes and I actually liked the outcome. It was nice to try out something different than my everyday look.
